About the Duo
Rebecca Chambers and Sarah Schouten have been performing together since they met at Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp in 2006. Their collaboration began with impromptu duets and has developed into a professional horn duo. Rebecca and Sarah have performed and presented, both individually and collectively, at numerous workshops including: the Southeast Horn Workshop, the Northeast Horn Workshop, and the International Horn Symposium. As passionate educators and musicians, the two strive to share their love of music with both academic and community audiences.
From 2010 to 2015, Rebecca and Sarah performed together in the Ocala Symphony Orchestra; Rebecca continues to perform with the Ocala Symphony as their principal horn. Both earned doctoral degrees from Florida State University, where they studied with Michelle Stebleton.
The duo has performed at several regional and international horn workshops including the Northeast Horn Workshop, the Southeast Horn Workshop, and the International Horn Symposium. In the spring of 2016 the duo had the pleasure of performing recitals and giving masterclasses at Edinboro University of Pennsylvania, SUNY Fredonia, Allegheny College, and Marywood University. They were also pleased to return to give a recital and masterclass at their alma mater, Florida State University. During their 2016 tour the duo was honored to collaborate with pianists, Dr. Amber Shay Nicholson, Dr. Rick Hoffenberg, and Dr. Deloise Lima.
